| Description & Commentary: | Acquired around 2008, this is a relatively high-quality accessory carabiner for the time. As of 2022, companies like Rock Exotica and DMM produce accessory carabiners rated for strength, but below acceptable strengths (and possibly quality control) for PPE. Based on the heavy chipping, I guess the finish to be paint, rather than powder coat. The Black Diamond logo is just laser etched - removing the thick green paint. The left side shows ejector/gate marks on the nose, hinge, and both ends of the spine - which suggests the carabiner was metal injection molded. The raised warning text was formed in the molding process. |
