Summary: | magnetic simul-locking, light HMS carabiner |
Description & Commentary: | At the time of release, the VaporLock was the lightest HMS style carabiner from a reputable manufacturer. At some point, Black Diamond also released this version with the innovative Magnetron gate, but it was not in production very long. In 2023, examples fetch absurd prices (>$120) on forums and auction sites from collectors and magnetron enthusiasts - higher than any other Magnetron model. The vaporlock body profile is different than the two screw lock versions I have. The spine is more square, almost T-beam rather than hourglass found in the other versions. I have listed it as baseball bat due to the slight narrowing near the spine interior edge. |
