Description & Commentary:

This is a fairly standard keylock compact asym. D straight gate carabiner from the uncommon (in the US) LucKY brand. It sports a unique

twin-keylock gate and matching relief holes on the rear of the gate.

This model is a keylock version of the older (and distinctive) notch & pin carabiners which were sold under the Troll, Lucky/Vaude, Metolius, and Vector names, but I am unsure if Vaude produced these themselves or was produced by another company.

Vaude acquired Edelrid in 2006, and the existing Lucky by Vaude product line was taken over by Edelrid in 2008. From the date code, this appears to be a 2006 production and likely one of the last generation of Lucky carabiners. This version is smaller than my other example of a Lucky carabiner.

Other notes: The indent in the front of the gate provides additional gate clearance.
